Summary: We wanted to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary, and would normally have gone somewhere hot for this milestone but with Covid we are still not prepared to fly anywhere, so were looking for something different to just a ‘hotel room’, I saw this advertised on Expedia, and it looked to be just what we were looking for, a bit of luxury in a tranquil setting, just the down time we needed after a busy year. Penbontbren ticked all the boxes, the suites are lovely, an old barn conversion, our suite was upstairs, it was cozy and clean with a comfy bed, 18 acres of beautiful grounds which I’m sure look even more fabulous in the summer months. The owners, Richard and Kathryn, are lovely, as is Dawn who looked after our needs at breakfast, nothing was ever too much trouble, and I loved the personal touches that you don’t experience in a large hotel. We visited some lovely beaches whilst there and even got to see dolphins in the sea at Aberporth beach on our anniversary. Perfect! 😍
