Summary: I challenge anyone to find the slightest thing wrong with this Guest House, which we considered to be perfect. From the warm and genuine welcome, help with direction and suggested destinations, to a clean and comfortable room, and an excellent breakfast. A bonus was a lounge for guests, with a lovely open log fire, regularly tended to by the hostess. We would not dream of staying anywhere else in this area.

Summary: We really enjoyed our stay at the Dowfold B&B! The room (we chose the Pink Room) was comfortable and nice. Breakfast was also tasty! I even forgot my glasses and Jill kindly sent them by post! They arrived safely and well packaged. It is also in a good location, the only thing I think would make it easier to find was if there was a sign for the B&B a little before getting to it. Thanks we had a really nice time.

Summary: We stayed for 1 night while visiting our son in Durham to help him move . Having stayed in and around Durham previously and never returned to the same hotel as they had all been poor , this is a hidden gem . Mr & Mrs Richardson our hosts were charming and attention to detail puts most hotels to shame . For example on learning at breakfast that my wife has to have a lactose free diet they produced a jug of lactose free milk .That is a first. Our room was comfortable and had everything you could need and the best hotel shower I can remember .There are stunning views over the surrounding countryside from most windows . It is only 15 minutes from the centre of Durham .We certainly hope to return and for more than 1 night . Don't be put off by this being a B&B , It may only have 3 letting rooms but it is excellent .
