Positive: The setting and location of this hotel is quite beautiful. The situation is fantastic and the views over their parkland and beyond are idyllic. The cooked a la carte breakfast was nice but the other breakfast options were limited to very simple cereals, yoghurts, juices and preserves. The young staff were very nice.

Negative: Our stay was ok, but this hotel, which is priced at a premium (£250+ per night) is, in reality, quite old and run down and is not really the fine country house hotel it purports to be. The hotel is in need of serious renovation and everything about it is quite 'old and tired'. This hotel could be beautiful, but it's a 3-star rating (at best) and needs some big investment in a quality renovation by the owners. I wouldn't stay here again in its current state at this price.
