Summary: It was cheap, perfectly located and very clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and we managed to get a space in the car park which was a bonus, although there is on-street parking nearby. It’s dated and some of the fixtures and fittings are cheap and a bit worse for wear. That is all reflected in the price though, and the place is exceptionally clean and comfortable. We also had a lovely big room with lovely views over the South Bay and the town. If you want luxury, don’t come here - it’s a hotel catering for the over-60’s coach trip client, with bingo or other entertainment on an evening. Breakfast is OK although a bit cramped and the heating was on in the dining room in August, so it was rather warm. There’s also no proper coffee - you get a flask of hot water with Nescafé sachets - but the bacon and sausages were of good quality and the service was good. It was fine for one night and is in a great location.
