Summary: I have stayed in Sarovar Porticos - several times in Indore, and several times in "Ashtan Sarovar Portico" in Delhi; and also in Lucknow, and in Raipur. And my experience in all these was very good. But the Taurus Sarovar Portico was a big disappointment. It started with a strange question from the person at the reception desk - "is any one likely to join you in your room?". I am still wondering what he meant. The booking was single occcupancy, so why would any one join me in my room? In Mahipalpur, surrounded by "massage parlors" and such, the question has a sinister connotation. I am 74 + and visibly a very Sr. Citizen. Yet no one offered to help me with bags to elevator and room. The corridor on 2nd floor had a carpet, so the wheeled bag would not get drawn easily. If a hotels puts a carpet anywhere, they must regularly vacuum clean it. Else, better have bare tiles. The carpeted corridors were smelly. The room was damp and smelly. No towels. (yes, I could ask for it. But why do I have to ask for it?). Slippery washroom floor. The room had a phone, but no where did it say dial what number for reception, room service etc. I had to go to the reception, merely to ask what numbers to dial. When I pointed out "why can't you write it some place?". He just said "Sorry Sir". The chairs in the breakfast-room were so uncomfortable, it can't be described, has to be experienced. I can go on and on, but this is sufficient. As for me, never again.
