In just a five-minute walk, you’ll find The Paddle Shed - a great spot to hire paddle boards and kayaks. Plus, The Shack at Portmellon sells locally sourced produce and delicious cups of coffee. In the evenings, don’t miss out on a sundowner at The Rising Sun where you can enjoy uninterrupted views of the sea with a good pint of your favourite tipple.

When you’re not out exploring, settle into your lovely home and feel instantly at ease. Spacious rooms ensure plenty of space for 8 guests, whether it’s cooking up a storm in the open-plan kitchen or relaxing in front of a film. You'll find two living areas each with a TV, perfect for getting a little space from the kids! With ample light flooding through the large windows, it’s a space that feels calm and serene. The Neighborhood:
This charming home is located in a quiet cul-de-sac, a stone's throw from Portmellon Beach and Mevagissey. In the village, you’ll find a brilliant pub, watersports hire and a shack selling delicious food and fresh coffee. Just a short drive or walk away, Mevagissey is a historic harbour village with lots to explore. There are plenty of brilliant restaurants and pubs, often with live music in the summer months. Kids will love crabbing off the harbour wall or visiting the free local aquarium, which is run as a charity project to raise awareness of the fishing industry. The Mevagissey Passenger Ferry can be picked up from Lighthouse Quay and takes you over to Fowey, a stunning harbour town with loads to do (there is a regatta every summer).

There is so much to enjoy in the area around Mevagissey too. The stunning Vault Beach is a fairly long but stunning walk from the house and is often empty even during the summer months. Goran Haven is ideal for afternoons sunbathing on the beach, taking dips in the water or tucking into fish and chips. Plus, Carhaeys Estate is a real spectacle with its historic castle and impressive gardens - although do check its open times as they are sporadic throughout the year. Its beach is another off-the-beaten-track favourite and there are several great events that run throughout summer just outside the beach hut, from movie nights to live music. In the winter months, grab a hot chocolate and enjoy a stroll along the water's edge.

About a 10-minute drive out of town is The Lost Gardens of Heligan, which once stood lost to the brambles. Having been re-discovered after WW2, it now boasts some of the prettiest gardens in Cornwall as well as a fantastic farm shop and events calendar. And if that wasn't enough, the world-famous Eden Project is only around a 20-minute drive!
