The nature reserve is rich with wildlife and includes a pretty stream, there are rare red squirrels, a blanket of wild flowers and trees. The cottage is surrounded by spectacular unspoilt scenery yet only 7 miles from Rothbury, a town with a good selection of shops, cafes and pubs. Relax in front of the log fire and watch the window bird table which attracts numerous species.
There are walks straight from the front door into wild "open access" land with heather moorland, woods, rough pasture and rivers. Centrally located the cottage offers easy access to Alnwick Castle and Gardens, National Trust properties, Hadrian's Wall, Kielder Water, the coast and Scottish Borders.
