Positive: Views are truely amazing. The apartment is spacious. We were here during the really cold snap and the oil central heating was great- cosy warm! The open fire at this time of year was a real plus. Curtains and carpets are really good quality and the main bedroom furnishings give the added touch of luxury. Walking to the beach was brilliant with the dog and the hotel there served excellent food and drinks and then a short walk back. An amazing holiday. Thank you for allowing a dog and for those who do not like dogs the place was meticulously cleaned and there was no evidence of dogs being allowed!
Negative: For us there was nothing but have included points which may impact other guests. Reviews mention the narrow access roads and this is true however the beach is at the bottom of the lane so one does not need the car to access them, a real plus, and during the summer you can always enjoy the short ferry to Salcombe if you do notwant to walk. Waitrose does deliver so the basics can always be preordered which we did but we did leave space for having special meals at the local hotel. The amazing views do mean that there is a walk down to the beach and this would be an issue for those with mobility issues but the car park to the apartment is level. The second bedroom is tight but does have the advantage of three beds if you need them. Understandably South Sands beach does not allow dogs in summer but you can always walk in the other direction along the coastal path and there are other beaches that do.
