Positive: That is was within walking distance to Anfield Stadium

Negative: Paid £236 for one night, which set expectations fairly high, but unfortunately the experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish. We arrived at 12pm and the lady at reception checked us in, advising that the room wouldn’t be ready until 3pm, which we fully accepted. We went out into Liverpool and returned at 3:30pm to collect our key card. When we opened the door to the room, we were shocked to find it clearly had not been cleaned. The bed was unmade, the bedding had not been changed, and the room was in an unacceptable state. Surely hotel staff should know whether a room is actually ready before issuing key cards!! We informed the staff member on the bar, who did offer an apology, however it felt dismissive and as though the situation didn’t really matter, followed by being told it would be “about half an hour” before it was dealt with. Other issues continued throughout the stay. There were no spoons on the tray for making hot drinks, no wardrobe or space to hang clothes, (good job we were only stopping 1 night!!.) The room was directly above the beer garden, and as it was just after a Liverpool v Newcastle match (4–1 result), there was extremely loud, drunken behaviour until nearly midnight. On top of that, the soundproofing was extremely poor — we could hear every word from neighbouring rooms, and the creaking floorboards were constant. We certainly won’t be returning, which is a shame as the location is very convenient for attending football matches. Unfortunately, convenience alone does not make up for the lack of cleanliness, poor communication, and overall disregard for guest comfort. Certainly not worth £236 for one night.
