All staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. *All areas of the hotel are clean and well presented. *Bedroom was very comfortable with everything we needed: +Garden View. +Good shower/bath. +Shower gel, shampoo, handwash, towels provided. +Hairdryer in drawer. +Fan and spare pillow & towels in wardrobe. +Good drawer space, wardrobe, desk, chairs, TV, tea & coffee with kettle all in room. *free WiFi (If you have trouble, please ask at reception. We were given the password for the secure WiFi rather than open WiFi. We had no problem.) *laundry service available *Go Green policy encouraging reuse of towels and skipping a room clean if you're on a short stay. 💚 *Vending machine and *recycling bins at the start of the bedrooms. *Water free to help yourself at reception *24 hour reception and bar for residents +Room service available at certain times. *Bar & lounge area with +Pool table +Large TV + Fireplace with living flame, guarded fire +ample comfy seating *Excellent breakfast with everything you'd expect, including fresh fruit and *non-dairy & gluten free options available on request. +Eggs cooked fresh to order. *Everything is labelled including calories per 100g. I have never seen such attention to detail in any other hotel breakfast experience. *Dinner menu equally good and informative. *Delicious food. *Generous portions. + I requested an alteration to my meal which was done exactly as I asked, no problem. * I would recommend the restaurant for breakfast, lunch or dinner even if you're not a guest at the hotel. + There is an option for dinner vouchers from reception for 2 or 3 course meal at a reduced price. (Selected dishes, but ample choice.) *late checkout option *secure entry from 11pm *private car park + all cars registered at reception *pleasant surroundings *great location, especially for shopping centres.

Negative: *I can't fault it. *We have read some comments about slightly tired or dated decor, but we enjoyed the decor and presentation. Ongoing maintenance is evident (we had a friendly exchange with the maintenance man as he was working.) *Exceptional cleanliness and attention to detail outweighs any tiny niggles. *Personally, I would prefer a small fridge in any hotel room, but in my fairly limited experience, it is rare to find in Scottish hotels.

Summary: Great experience and value. Would recommend.
