Leat Cottage is a hidden gem, a beautiful three bedroom detached cottage with private garden located very near Waterhead Creek in the picturesque coastal village of Kingswear, Devon.
Approached via a secret passageway, the property is very comfortable with some luxury flourishes. The garden and two terraces offer a lovely spot for a sundowner at the end of the day or alternatively you could choose to curl up on the comfortable sofas in front of the real wood log burner.
The cottage can accommodate up to six people in two double bedrooms and one twin room. The master bedroom has built-in wardrobes, a double bed, en-suite shower room and patio door to the upper terrace. The second double bedroom has a built-in bed with access only from one side. The family bathroom incorporates a whirlpool bath with shower over. On the ground floor the property offers an open-plan kitchen dining area with large opening patio doors onto the lower decking. The kitchen is fully equipped and includes range electric cooker, dishwasher and built-in washer/dryer. The cosy living room has a wood burner for cosy evenings making this an all year-round holiday spot. There is also a separate office and a downstairs cloakroom.
Leat Cottage is just a short ferry ride (by either car or on foot) across the river from Dartmouth in the beautiful village of Kingswear. The cottage is within easy walking distance of two village pubs, the village post office and store, the Marina and the Royal Dart Yacht Club. It is set close to the Southwest coastal path within an Area of Outstanding Natural beauty and is a perfect retreat for couples, friends or families. Kingswear is a fantastic place to stay, quieter than neighbouring Dartmouth and still just a short distance from the local attractions including the Britannia Royal Naval College and Dartmouth Castle, National Trust Coleton Fishacre and Woodlands Family Theme Park. There is a steam train which runs from Kingswear and offers a round robin trip, linking with the boats from Totnes back down the river to Dartmouth. There are also a plethora of beaches and seaside attractions within easy reach to offer days out for all. Parking is not included but can be found free of charge on the road just outside the property.
