Travel Purpose: business

Positive: Cute cottage with gorgeous gardens and the house has been nicely renovated. Hosts had left a Christmas tree and a card which was really appreciated. The rooms are spacious and the underfloor heating in the entrance hall was a welcome from the cold outside!

Negative: It was cold in the house. The bedrooms and living areas were set to 18 degrees which wasn’t warm enough when it was minus 5 degrees outside. There seemed to be some kind of admin control preventing us from adjusting the temperature and the boost mode per the instruction book only allowed you to keep it at 18c for longer. The wood burner in the lounge isn’t working either so we spent a cold Christmas with the kids cold in their beds and us sitting in jackets in the lounge. The entrance hall was warm with underfloor heating and we could adjust the separate heater in the kitchen so it was a shame the rest of the house wasn’t comfortable. There was only 1 additional blanket and no additional heaters unfortunately.

Summary: Nice but unfortunately cold house in a gorgeous location
