Superb mountain and sea views provide a spectacular setting for this lovely house, the former home of Prime Minister Lloyd George's daughter. Ideal for larger families and groups Eisteddfa is approached by it's own private driveway with a spacious car park for up to 8 cars. A light and spacious sun room makes the most of the amazing views, leading on to the dining area and huge kitchen. Sleeps 10 in 3 double (2 ensuite) and 2 twin rooms with an additional family bathroom. Dogs welcome.

Property description

Eisteddfa is a beautiful country house offering comfortable accommodation for up to 10 people, close to the popular towns of Criccieth and Porthmadog. The former home of Lady Olwen, Prime Minister Lloyd George's daughter it is still owned by the family and is situated in a stunning location looking down the Madog Vale towards Tremadog rocks, Moel y Gest mountain and the southern Snowdonia Rhinog mountain range.

The large kitchen and dining area is the hub of the house, with a light and airy sunroom with TV and additional sitting room with TV making up the ground floor accommodation together with a small office, cloakroom and utility room with washing machine and dryer.

Upstairs there are three double bedrooms, all with TV, two with en-suite shower rooms and two twin bedded rooms with additional family bathroom with shower over bath. Four of the bedrooms share beautiful valley and mountain views with the fifth overlooking the gardens and fields. Bed linen and towels are provided. The house has central heating throughout with an electric woodburner type heater in the sitting room.

WIFI is available throughout Eisteddfa cottage although slow in some rooms due to the thick walls.

Outside the lovely traditional terrace has seating and BBQ, overlooking the fishing lakes 500 yds from the cottage, and a pretty, enclosed garden. Other gardens surround the property and guests are welcome to explore. The house is approached via it's own private driveway and has ample parking for up to 8 cars. There is an electricity point in the car park.

Guests are welcome to bring up to 3 dogs and are kindly asked to make sure they clean up after their pets, not allow them on the furniture or upstairs and not to leave them in the property unattended unless securely crated. There are several easy walks from the cottage, and Morannedd beach at Criccieth is around half an hours walk from Eisteddfa.

Summary: We had such a good time at Eisteddfa. Beautiful house, stunning location and plenty of good food places nearby. Very friendly and helpful owner and special thanks to Coastal Holidays who pulled out all the stops to make our holiday possible. Would love to go back. Highly recommended.
