3 Bedroom Cottage in Edale
This delightful semi-detached barn conversion is situated adjacent to the owners' farmhouse, on their working sheep farm, in the small, rural hamlet of Ollerbrook, just a 10 minute walk from the lovely village of Edale. Skilfully converted by local craftsmen, this 17th century former working barn provides ideal accommodation for a family or group of friends. This lovely cottage boasts character features, such as oak beams and stonework, along with offering comfortable accommodation and modern fittings. Inside this cottage is a first floor open plan living area, which has a well-equipped kitchen, dining area and sitting area, and also on this floor is a twin bedroom with an en-suite shower room, whilst on the ground floor are two further bedrooms, again with the convenience of en-suite facilities. Outside is a patio area, so why not enjoy a spot of alfresco dining after an enjoyable day exploring the area? Walks and cycle routes can be found throughout this wonderful part of the Peak District National Park, plus the Spa town of Buxton and stunning Chatsworth House are within driving distance. The perfect base at whatever time that you wish to stay.
The lovely village of Edale is situated in the High Peaks at the foot of Kinder Scout and is the start of the Pennine Way, making the area a walker's paradise. The village has a combined general store and post office, two public houses that serve food and a Moorland Visitor Centre. Only four miles from Castleton in the stunning Hope Valley, Castleton is famous for fluor-spar, better known as Blue John, a rare and beautiful mineral discovered by the Romans 2000 years ago and is the only known source in the world. Buxton took off as a spa town after the arrival of the railway making the town accessible to the masses. The Peak District makes a wonderful holiday location for visitors of all ages.
