Set at the starting point of the sweeping Mawddach Estuary and caught between Snowdonia's sea and mountain scenery, the small, peaceful village of Llanelltyd rests amongst climbing green hills, offering a perfectly peaceful holiday location for touring this vibrant area. The crumbling Cymer Abbey, a 12th century romantic ruin, and St Illtyd's Church, thought to be one of the oldest in Wales, stand testament to the village's past.
