Positive: Lovely big house with great sized rooms, comfy beds, most excellent large kitchen, fantastic quiet rural location, great outlook, upstairs balcony overlooking open fields, very easy to find using SatNav

Negative: It was obvious the place had not been cleaned immediately before our arrival as there were cobwebs, no direct route to ask any questions, conflicting check-out times between booking.com / Sykes Cottages (0900 and no flexibility) and what was written in the book in the house (1000), no instructions on recycling, having to take your own rubbish to a bin up the lane, dining chair coming apart, loudest old extractor fan ever in the main bedroom ensuite shower room - we were also put off using the wood-burner by the instruction that we would have to clean it out at the end of the stay (but not saying how) and that was a real shame. Also the heating didn't work as it should with one bedroom at 25 degrees and never dropped below 20!
