Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: Really beautiful setting, with orchards, small lakes, relaxation areas, outdoor dining, a playground at one end and a farm. Overall the area is well thought though. The accommodation (cabins) is quality built, spacious but cozy and comfortable - it was perfect! It had air conditioning that worked really well in the 35 degree heat. Unfortunately the pool wasn’t working when we arrived, but it was ok because we had enough fun swimming in the small lake. When it’s open, perhaps in the colder months, it looks like it would be very nice. There is a restaurant on site with a tasty local menu, incl. options for children. Overall, our young children loved the stay, and it was a really great 1 night away from the hustle and bustle of Bucharest.

Negative: The only thing that may have been slightly lacking is a warm welcome and the feeling of being looked after. Apart from one very helpful English speaking waiter, we didn’t really interact with anyone and felt like we kind of just walked in and then walked out. There are many staff which probably explains it but a personal touch would’ve truly made this 10/10. (Note: the hosts were responsive to queries and helpful over WhatsApp) The restaurant food took a while to make, and a couple of times there were issues with the order (fries didn’t come, or they told us something wasn’t available 30 mins after ordering), but I’d read the other reviews so my expectations were adjusted. The menu could also benefit from at least 1 vegetarian main course (in practice 2/3 kids options were vegetarian). A couple of times quite loud music was turned on in the food area, which is exactly the opposite of what we were looking for - a peaceful stay in nature. We were very grateful that when we expressed our feedback the party music was turned off, and the rest of the stay was wonderfully calm.
