Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: We loved the location of the property. Nestled in the trees next to the stream was the perfect location. Although the other lodges dotted around the resort looked equally as lovely, they were quite out in the open and you would be easily seen on the deck/ in a hot tub. In this property we didn’t have those worries. The resort is surrounded by lovely countryside, where we went for walks. The only thing was we would have loved was a map or information pack about walking routes in the area as we found ourselves lost a couple times!

Negative: The only unfortunate thing was that we found some old full bin bags shoved in the boiler cupboard and in the store just outside the front door, when we arrived. Obviously the smell wasn’t great. We are pretty sure it was the guests before us who couldn’t be bothered to take their bin bags to the refuse area on site as they left. So we did the short walk across to the reception and spoke to staff there. They were really apologetic and as we were speaking the cleaning staff were going past. A staff member grabbed the cleaner and told them about the issue and it was sorted there and then. They immediately went and collected the bin bags and disposed of them. So in the end not really a problem.
